LILONGWE, Malawi— The Association of Environmental Journalists (AEJ), along with the Malawi Defence Force and other organizations, staged a solidarity march against thin plastics at the Lilongwe Community ground, writes Tionge Hara.
Participants carried placards with messages like “Say No to thin plastics,” “Stop environmental harm,” and “Plastic-free nation starts with you,” demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation.
The march aimed to raise awareness about plastic pollution’s harmful effects and advocate for a ban on thin plastics in Malawi.
Newly elected AEJ President Titus Linze told AfricaBrief, “All we want is no to these thin plastics because they damage the environment. As we all know, we only have one planet, so let’s take care of it.”
